Pigeon Point Lighthouse on top of Monument or Prisoner Rock.

PigeonPoint

From June: In March, 1880, the Thompson Bros were awarded the contract to supply the Pigeon Point Fog Signal with wood, and they commenced hauling pine wood. A month later there was a review of the “Pigeon Point Road Case.” Prior to the 1850s  a “road” connected Santa Cruz with San Francisco; in September 1853 a bridge was built across Butano Creek near Pescadero. When this bridge was built the land was owned by Capt. Isaac Graham, and he had long given locals and travelers the right-of-way, as  customary in those days. In 1862 when Loren Coburn and Jeremiah Clark purchased the Graham property, that right-of-way was rescinded.
